ACTUALLY, DO YOU KNOW THAT FEMALE CONDOM DOES EXIST SINCE MORE THAN ONE CENTURY ?

Indeed, it was early in this century that the female condom was invented, called “Practice.” In 1908, the company Excelsior (poster above) praised the female condom: “The Practice, [condom] for women, in English sheet extra with tire bead, [is] like a second vagina protector which guarantees complete security, leaves the illusion of natural and adds to the intensity of sensations. “It has unfortunately disappeared in this form.

In 1985 he revived after several years of study, as an intra-vaginal polyurethane device. Marketed since 1992 in the United States under the name Femidom ®, it appeared in Europe, especially in England, some years later.

The first version of the condom, FC1, is a polyurethane sheath, single size, hypoallergenic, containing two rings: an inner ring made of polyurethane and an outer ring of nitrile. The inner ring is movable and not attached to the sheath. The outer ring, taller and thinner than the inner ring remains outside the vagina when the condom is inserted. It keeps the condom so that it covers the external genitalia and the base of the penis during intercourse.

The female condom has been specifically designed to be comfortably held in place and removed easily. It is pre-lubricated with a silicone dimethicone which is inert, non-spermicidal and widely used in the medical field. The lubricant used to facilitate insertion of the condom before the report .

Like the male condom, the Femidom ® protects against STIs and is a safe and effective contraception.

Today, the second version of FC2 is nitrile, it has the same properties as FC1.
